A grouping found in countries consiered to be in the West seeking a radical alternative to capitalism. Antagonistic towards modern industrial society, anti-nationalist. .The new left opposed alienation and authoritarianism and saw the evils of society as a result of sexual repression perhaps illustrating an eregence from the hippie movement of the 1960's.
